Foxfibre Flannel

This midweight flannel is woven in Japan from organically grown Foxfibre® cotton—an heirloom cotton breed with roots that stretch back over 4,000 years. Naturally colored cottons like this one were first cultivated in Central and South America, long before industrial agriculture took over.

In the 1980s, American agricultural pioneer Sally Fox helped revive this ancient tradition, selectively breeding naturally brown cotton into a fiber strong enough to be spun on modern machines. Thanks to her work, her organic, long staple, USA grown Foxfibre® cotton grows in shades like camel, coyote brown, and green, with no dyes or heavy processing needed.

Brushed for extra softness and left undyed to honor its origins, this over shirt is cut with a relaxed fit that layers easily over tees, henleys, or lightweight knits. A classic workwear spirit runs through every stitch: easy, durable, and made to get better with age.

You'll find that Foxfibre® is so soft and nearly silk-like due to it being a long staple cotton. Long staple cotton is exactly that - longer fibers. But it's hard to grow and produces a small yield, which makes it highly sought after and competitive.
