So much to say about this tee and so little space!
8.26oz of 100% recycled cotton, this Amami tee was cut and sewn in Japan and then dyed on a small island off the southern coast by hand using mud and tree bark - a dyeing process that's about as natural as it gets.
From WL: The Sharinbai tree, native to Amami, has long been used in the region's dyeing traditions. Its wood yields a natural dye of warm, rosy color, brought to life as artisans hand-dye each piece with the same methods passed down through generations. To complete the dyeing process, artisans employ dorozome, Amami's renowned mud-dyeing technique. By soaking the fabric in iron-rich mud, the minerals settle into the fibers, deepening the color in a way only possible through this traditional method.
Lastly, the recycled cotton that makes up this tee comes from cotton collected during the yarn-spinning process of Wonder Loopers other garments, offcuts from their Double Heavyweight T-shirts, and extra-long staple cotton.
